If you are an aviator, then you might be interested in knowing
what flashlight has been HOT at Kirtland AFB, so you can get
one for yourself...
|
The flashlights that the aviation community
at Kirtland has been buying have the NVIS compatible/NVG secure Phantom
Secure Green bulb as the primary lighting mode.
This PSG gives the user a wavelength of light
that is not detected by most
versions of night vision goggles--even "head
on."
|
|
This is in contrast to the standard version of the Phantom Warrior,
which is a PSW; a Phantom Secure White, which gives you color accurate
NVG secure/compatible lighting.
|
|
It is simply a matter of preference as to
which version your aviation crew will want to order. Kirtland wanted
the PSG because its pilots were more familiar with green light.
